Late on Monday, October 26, 2026, the Corsican nationalist representatives left the Senate and announced their withdrawal from the negotiation process regarding the island's autonomy. The reason: the adopted amendments that call into question several essential elements: a distinct community, resident status, or the recognition of the Corsican language.
A survey by Ifop published on October 22, 2026, reveals that 56% of residents in the five Breton departments support the attachment of Loire-Atlantique to the Brittany region, compared to 44% in 2012. During the inauguration of the 37th edition of the Book Festival in Brittany, this Saturday, October 24, in Carhaix, Mayor Christian Troadec paid a lengthy tribute to Charlie Grall, co-founder of the festival, who passed away on February 28.
