Stuck in a Florida village, Jacques finds himself swept up by Angel, a mechanic passionate about country music, who is trying to save his band from a music competition. Amidst tumultuous rehearsals, alcohol, secrets, inheritance, old wounds, and new feelings, Jacques gradually discovers another way of living.
The novel offers a quirky perspective on deep America, far from tourist clichés, with a cast of characters inspired by the author's encounters. Music plays an important role: an original country song even accompanies the novel through a QR code.
The author:
Tangi Colombel, originally from Côtes-d'Armor, lived in Florida for 24 years after training at Cours Simon. An actor in theater, film, and television, he also became the “French Crooner” at parties in Palm Beach and Miami. After two autobiographical accounts, he turns here to fiction, while maintaining a writing style described as tender, colorful, and humorous.
