Too abundant or too rare, fascinating or devastating, water is the vital breath of our Earth. In perpetual motion, from the secret spring to the vastness of the ocean, it flows at the heart of our imagination. While it embodies our fragilities and the ecological challenges of our time, it remains above all an inexhaustible source of wonder and contemplation.
Through the words of Marie-Josée Christien and the eye of photographer Yann Pérennou, the book offers an initiatory journey along the water: from the hidden source to the tumult of rivers, to the surf of the ocean.
The author and the photographer:
Marie-Josée Christien lives in Quimper in Finistère. A poet, literary critic, and collage artist, she is a major voice in contemporary poetry characterized by purity and contemplation. Responsible for the magazine Spered Gouez, her work has been awarded the Prix Xavier-Grall and the Grand Prix international de poésie francophone.
Yann Pérennou lives in Cornwall. A designer by training and an independent metalworker, his photographic gaze captures here with strength and sensitivity the intangible substance of water, from foam to the reflections of landscapes.
