Devolved leaders sign 'historic' agreement on independence

According to The Guardian, the leaders of the three main nationalist movements from Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland met on Monday in Cardiff to strengthen their cooperation and assert their nations' right to democratically decide their future.
John Swinney, leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP), Rhun ap Iorwerth, leader of Plaid Cymru, and Michelle O’Neill, vice president of Sinn Féin, have signed a joint memorandum calling on the British government to "prepare, plan, and facilitate constitutional change" in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

The three parties believe that the time of Westminster "is coming to an end." John Swinney stated that there is now a growing consensus that the Westminster system is no longer fit for purpose; Rhun ap Iorwerth spoke of the need for a "major reset" of relations between the nations of the archipelago.
For the first time since devolution was established, the three governments of Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland are led by officials who favor leaving the United Kingdom. Mary Lou McDonald, president of Sinn Féin, was also present.
Equal Footing Cooperation
The three parties have decided to develop their concrete cooperation, particularly on economy, energy, Europe, and international relations. They met as leaders of their parties, rather than as heads of their respective governments.
