Jean-Pierre Subié is a painter, photographer, calligrapher, and author of several books on the Celtic world. His current work in painting consists of a symbiosis of illuminations and mandalas, inspired among other things by Celtic motifs, symbols, embroidery, traditional headdresses and costumes, nature, and Celtic and Breton legends.
Their names are in Breton and French. "I find that Breton corresponds perfectly and sounds good. Breton is one of the six Celtic languages still spoken. Paintings in which curves and counter-curves adorned with nature and space in multitude create a form of attraction for the gaze. A play of vision that reveals the fact that I have always felt that the canvas looks at the viewer as much as the viewer looks at it. A resonance, an inner echo, a suspended time. If the viewer lets go, they are drawn by a kind of magic into an infinite world."
Jean-Pierre Subié will sign his book "Enluminures Mandalas" during the Book Festival in Brittany, on October 24 and 25 in Carhaix and on November 7 and 8, from 2 PM to 5 PM, at his workshop 12, Lann Vrudeg, in Ploumilliau (22) where the originals will be exhibited, during the event "Irresistible Worlds of Artists" organized by the Côtes d'Armor department.
