Bretagne Réunie once again submits a petition to the National Assembly for a consultation on the attachment of Loire-Atlantique to the Brittany region.
In its text, the association notably recalls the 2018 petition, which gathered more than 105,000 handwritten signatures from voters in Loire-Atlantique, representing over 10% of the electoral body of the department. The departmental council subsequently requested, on December 17, 2018, that the State organize a citizen consultation.
Bretagne Réunie believes that a legislative framework is still lacking to allow for this consultation and therefore asks the deputies to take the necessary initiatives. The association considers that a vote by citizens would help to move beyond an institutional debate that has lasted for more than fifty years and to engage more broadly in a reflection on the territorial organization of Western France.
