Officially presented yesterday, Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Espace Bouvet (Saint-Servan, Saint-Malo) on the occasion of the European Heritage Days, this new work by Gilbert Louet drew a full house of 200 people for a screening and discussion about the 17 centuries of history of the Alet district.
The Origins of Alet and Saint-Malo: The City of Alet – Memory of Stones
Carried out for over three years at the request of the association "Droits de Cité," this ambitious project takes the form of an innovative interactive and educational application that highlights the historical and archaeological heritage of Saint-Malo through spectacular 3D virtual reconstructions. These immersive technologies allow us to bring back to life the lost monuments and spaces shaped by successive populations.
This creation is a direct continuation of two previous works by the director dedicated to the history of Saint-Malo.
The presentation of the application was followed by a conference-debate led by Gilbert Louet in the presence of contributors to the web documentary:
Catherine Bizien-Jaglin, archaeologist at CERAA (Research and Archaeology Center of Alet);
Philippe Petout, heritage curator at the Museum of Saint-Malo;
Anne Lunven, Mikaël Gendry, and Gilles Foucqueron, historians.
