Why Yes Breizh and not Ya Breizh?

Some regret that we did not choose Ya Breizh — “Yes Brittany” in Breton — instead of Yes Breizh.

But our choice is neither a coincidence nor a rejection of the Breton language: it is natural, coherent, and fully embraced.

First, “Yes” is universal

It is a word that everyone understands, conveying trust, energy, and agreement. It allows us to speak to the world without language barriers, from Brittany to Scotland, from Wales to Cornwall, and to the rest of the world.

Next, Yes Breizh is part of an international family.

Our Welsh friends have Yes Cymru, the Scots have Yes Scotland, and the Cornish have Yes Kernow.

We share with them the same democratic goals, the same values, and now the same visual identity.

Our name is therefore not the result of a strategic or philosophical reflection: it naturally stems from this partnership and fits within the common brand of Yes movements across the Celtic world.

Finally, this choice reflects a conviction: for Brittany to move forward, it must exist in the concert of nations, rely on its allies, and make itself heard internationally.

Yes Breizh is Brittany saying yes to the world, and the world learning to say yes to Brittany.
